I remember a time, and it wasn’t so long ago, when men who cared about their appearance and actually made the effort to dress well were shunned by many of their male peers and made the butt of countless jokes.

These groomed jerks had some nerve parading around in their fancy clothes. Who were they to impose such a direct threat to the guys who just enjoyed the everyday comforts of wearing baggy tee-shits, football jerseys and colorful Bermuda shorts? Shame on them, for putting this silly notion in women’s heads; that a man can have a sense of fashion without compromising his masculinity.

Sure enough, the days of men wearing whatever they want without comment from the female peanut gallery have come and gone. Now, men file in through the doors of fashion, one-by-one… But wait! It’s not all that bad, guys. Even though women do have some expectations of what you should be wearing, they certainly do not want you to spend more time dolling up than they do.

Here are just a few insights into men’s styles that women love, for every occasion.

Casual Daywear

Jeans, Tee-shirt, (Tattoos and track marks optional)

Casual daywear rules are simple, but you need to make sure of a couple of things first.

1) Have at least two pairs of jeans handy in your closet so you can rotate. You know, wash one pair when the other pair is dirty. Women like knowing that a guy changes his clothes every so often. Also, your jeans should flatter and draw attention to your butt and your crotch areas. I’m not talking Spandex-styles here! Room in the pants is good, just not too much in the aforementioned areas. Some women may tell you the first thing they look at is a man’s hands or his eyes- well, that’s in the world where crotches are called hands and butts are called eyes. Please, take advantage and show us what you’ve got.

2) Plain tee-shirts, vintage tee-shirts, polo shirts …Whatever you want, so long as it isn’t four sizes too big for you. Also, button-down Hawaiian shirts are not allowed unless you have the personality to wear one. If you don’t know what I mean by that, don’t wear it.

Casual Eveningwear

Jeans, Button-down shirt, Blazer

A pair of jeans and a tailored button-down shirt are already a great start, throw on a blazer and you’re smoking. This is a great look for casual nights out on the town and always a big hit with the ladies.

Formal Daywear

Khakis, Polo or Button-down shirt, Blazer, Tie (optional)

For any sort of day event you may need to dress up for, a nice pair of casual dress pants, a collared shirt and a blazer makes for a really classy, sexy look. Yum!

3-Piece Suit and Tie

Women love a man in a suit. Seeing a man all dressed up gives him an air of charm and elegance.  Men’s rings always catch our attention, just as long as they’re not on the ole’ ball ‘n’ chain finger.   Top that with a hint of nice smelling cologne and I’ll tell you, no woman can resist.

Boxer-Briefs

So I heard that boxer-briefs are not necessarily the most comfortable things men can wear under their clothes but they sure as hell look sexy! By the same token, underwire bras and thongs really aren’t so pleasant either, so I think you can make the same kind of sacrifices for us sometimes. (Just to clarify, don’t wear a bra and a thong.)
